GROUNDIES Odessa Women Barefoot Boot – Reviews
My favorite barefoot boots!
I have been wearing exclusively barefoot/minimalists shoes for about 2 years now. When I saw the Odessa boots on Groundies website last winter I knew I wanted to try them at some point but living in SW Florida & already owning several pairs of boots, I put that purchase on hold. When I saw them I Amazon at a great price I did not hesitate to purchase them. I am so happy with them! They are a nice wide toe-box, zero drop, the sole is flexible in all directions, & the suede is so soft. I have tried (and own) many barefoot brands. Most of them are too narrow in the toes to really get good splay but not these Groundies! I can’t think of a single thing that I would change about them… except maybe to make them in leather instead of suede for durability. Groundies is now my favorite barefoot brand for fashionable barefoot shoes that check all the boxes. I will be back for more Groundies!Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2020
Wonderful boots that are worth the wait for your size!
I *love* these boots. I had to check Amazon every day for quite awhile until my size came back in stock, but it was worth it. They do run a bit wide (which is normal for zero-drop shoes), so if you’ve got slimmer feet you’ll probably need to wear your thickest socks with them like I do.As someone with arthritis in one foot that causes some nerve pain and a dorsal bunion, the zero-drop, very flat heel, and wider toe box is so much more comfortable than standard shoes. I notice such a difference after a day in these! And for less pain, the price is worth it for me.Some zero-drop shoes have a weird- looking toe box, but I find these aren’t too pronounced. I don’t think anyone would notice that they’re different unless they really studied them. They also look pretty cute with skinny jeans, sort of elven but not so much that I feel like I belong at a ren faire. Casual, but not sloppy.I’ve only had them for a month so I can’t say how durable they’ll be, and without all the cushioning and thick sole they don’t feel as warm, but if you know that going in, you can prepare accordingly. For me, adding a thermal insole wasn’t comfortable, but that’s an option some might like.Bottom line: these are great, and worth the wait *and* the price!Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2021
I really wanted to like these, but the fit was off. I ordered size 9 wide and the boots I received were marked size 40. They should have fit, but they were way too long, especially over my three smallest toes. The flexible soles curled/flapped up at the end when I took a step, which was annoying. So, I sent them back and ordered the next smallest size, which was an 8 wide and came marked as a 39. While the length was correct for my big toes, they weren’t wide enough and smashed my pinky toes, plus the instep was too tight. Maybe if size 39.5 was a thing they would have worked? I just can’t believe the size difference between the 39 and 40!If I could have gotten the right fit, these would have been perfect. They are so cute, and I love the way the sole felt.Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2021
Feel really good
These seem to be quality well made boots. I’m deciding whether to keep them or not, I still haven’t worn them outside as I’m trying multiple boots to find the ones I love. So I’m not sure how warm they are or how they hold up. I really wanted the Toronto by Groundies, but it vanished away from Amazon and has yet to return. I love the thin flexible sole. I love that the toe box is wide enough for my feet to splay. I have had the hardest time finding boots and these feel so good. The trouble is they are much lower than I truly want, as I prefer a tall boot. I also don’t love the slouchy look.Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2020
Stylish barefoot boots
A little stiff at the beginning and not as wide as Belenka, but ever so stylish for barefoot shoes. They’re pretty good for low volume feet, but high volume feet might find them a little snug especially with socks. Need to be treated to be water resistant.Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2020
Beautiful shoe. Got a size too small, sucks that I’m in between sizes for this brand. Didn’t reorder a different size because of artificial lining. Why not leather lining for this beautiful leather shoe??Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2020
Almost perfect barefoot boot!
I love these boots! I used to have a great pair of vivibarefoot booys that they discontinued and I’ve been having the hardest time finding a pair to replace them. These are them! thin flexible sole actually has better traction than the vivos! Excellent barefoot boot even water resistant upper! Not insulated or warm, and a little snug around the top of my foot (I have wide feet) but the toe box is large and I can comfortably wear a pair of wool socks inside them. I think they stretched out just a little after some wear, so now they first perfectly!Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2020
Literally my favorite pair of shoes I’ve ever owned!!I’m all about barefoot shoes that don’t give you bunions, hammer toes, etc and these are PERFECT!!Definitely use the sizing chart – I’m almost always an 8.5/9, but based off the measurements ordered an 8 and it fits perfect!Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2020
