What has happen to New Balance!!!
Have purchased three pair of New Balance walking or running shoes in two months. The first pair the soles were so thin the bottoms of my feet hurt while walking on asphalt, I returned them. The second pair were size 9 4EE, which I have worn for thirty years, they were so tight I returned them. Third pair I ordered were 9.5 4EE they were way to short, bent my toes up, will try to return this pair. I will not blame foreign manufacturing for these problems. New Balance has cheapened their products and eliminated their quality control. A thirty year New Balance customer. NO MORE.

320lb guy says buy these shoes!
Just got these in the mail. Fit perfectly. I had the 608s before the exact same size 10.5 4E and those were the most comfy shoes I’ve ever owned. These fit exactly like my old ones. I’m a 320lb guy with wide feet and these shoes make my feet not hurt at all after a day of work being on my feet all day.

Are these COUNTERFEIT??? If not, then what happened to the quality?
I have worn New Balance my entire adult life. I love the shoes! I have wide feet and they always have my size. I can’t say enough good things about them and I have always been satisfied with the quality, comfort, and durability of the shoes…… until my last pair. I got these of Amazon what I believed to be a legit NEW BALANCE seller. I can but New Balance shoes online because the past quality has proven that I never need to try them on. They have always been consistent in the past with in their sizing. As soon as I got these shoes they felt a little “off” but I did not pay it much attention. I am not “hard” on athletic shoes…. I save that for my work boots. After just a few months of mild use the insoles completely fell apart. I have a very similar pair that I wore the hell out of for3+ years and they are in WAY better shape than these shoes. The outside started falling apart and the shoe laces have completely snapped in half. They look similar to my old ones but are very thin in comparison and also have differences in stitch pattern and color. Is this a knock off? The pics I have attached show the difference between a shoe that I have had for well over 3 years vs these new ones that are less than one year. And please remember these started seriously falling apart after just 2-3 months of very mild use. The orange insole is 5X thicker and in way better shape, the other insole is like paper. The inside stitching is coming undone also ( started after 2 months)I know I am late on this review but when the lace on the second shoe broke yesterday, so did my tolerance of these shoes. I have now swapped out both laces and also the insoles from my (definitely real) older New Balance. I am not sure what can be done if anything…. I will try and contact New Balance directly and see. I will update this laterPICS: The orange insole, orange toed shoe, and bright orange shoe lace on left side are all verified New balance as I purchased them in an actual New Balance store. The green insole and other pics are from the shoe I got on Amazon.

Honestly they felt like knockoffs. Have never had my heel sliding in …
Have been wearing New Balance 9.5 D since 2005 brand loyal. This pair feels cheap and they have glue showing at all the seams. Made in Indonesia, the quality of NB has gone way down the tubes. Honestly they felt like knockoffs. Have never had my heel sliding in a pair of New Balance. A pair of 10 dollar WalMart shoes would be better than these NB shoes. Scary stuff folks! Purchase at own risk. This cheap knock off pair if going back!

Very disappointed on the said shoe size
Very disappointed on the said shoe size. Oredered a 13 4E on this shoe. The box it came in said 13 4E. Inside the shoe it said 13 4E. The shoe was no where near 4E. The shoe was narrow. Is said that the headquarters are in LV, NV. But I believe that they were made in another country. Who else would make a misguided shoe as this. I would have given it a 4 Star because it looked well made. But will not be able to tell how long that shoe would last because the shoe doesn’t FIT.

Nice color, runs small both length and width
Shoe is too small for the size ordered. I ordered US 9 and it was smaller than a Skechers US 8.5.Tongue of the shoe is WAY TOO NARROW. Is New Balance increasing its profits by shaving off few millimeters from the width of the tongue?The shoe is way too narrow. I ordered 4E and if this so called Extra Wide is so narrow, I can’t imagine how a normal shoe would be like.Order half a size up, and extra wide

Size and comfort amazed me.
Wearing size 15, finding shoes that fit, everywhere, and are sized correctly, can be a bit of a headache. I gave these a shot, especially since they go up to 16’s. I went with my usual narrow/normal width, but they have wide and even and extra wide option. So I had plenty of room, in case these were China-sizing.As it turns out, these are a perfect fit for my standard size 15 feet. As well, they feel like wearing a feather. I like steel toed shoes and boots for regular wear, work, and other things. So I am used to heavy, hard, shoes and boots. These are a joy to wear when I can. And I will try to wear them more often. If I could be in love with a shoe, leisure… perhaps light trekking… these would be it.I can’t speak to longevity. But, for the price? If I had to buy a pair of these a summer, I would do it… if I was to use them enough. Actually, if they are still available this fall, I may put up a pair or two more… new… for when… or if… the world fails or I need a pair sooner than anticipated. I am extremely pleased with the feel, weight, and yet protection afforded by these shoes to my albeit limited experience.

FITS really SMALL – order 3 sizes to be sure it fits
FITS really SMALL – lucky for me I read the other reviews and bought 3 sizes (10, 10.5, and 11) figuring at least one would fit. I’m a solid 10 D in a New Balance and have bought them for years, but in this style I’m a 11D. Weird. Thanks to all the other reviewers for their advice.

For someone with bad feet, what works best cross training or running shoes?
It depends on the foot issues you have I have fairly flat feet and find cross trainers work better for me. I also use a arch support insert to stop my feet from rolling and prematurely wearing out one side of the soul
How is the tread?
The AT Tread works well for me. It works great for packed, hilly, grassy, slippery/muddy or graveled surfaces. feel very confident with traction down and up trails. I like that the tread does not get clogged with dirt. Seems easy enough to get dirt out as well. I hike mostly moderate or less level trails. I think it would do well for moderate and above as well. also, I have walked on pavement with these. The are a bit stiff for pavement. but, The extra support on ankles for the trail (uneven surfaces) is great for me.
Why do none of the new blance shoes on amazon come in men’s 12 D (regular, not wide)?
I have bought 2 pair of new balance shoes in a 12 regular on amazon in the past year. There are plenty available. Listing might have as 12m, 12d, or simply just a 12.
my bf wears a 14.5 wide, would a 14 wide work or should i get a 15?
From my purchase, (I normally wear a 13 wide) of a 13 wide it turned out to be too short so I returned them. I’d go with the 15.
Are these stability shoes or neutral cushioning. stability would be better for yard work?
They are trail runners, and that means stability.

My guy wears 10.5 but I bought him an 11 and that fits perfectly. For him, and for me, I always order a half size up in my workout/running/hiking shoes.

Nothing I found in the description of this shoe indicated that it is for diabetics.
I wear 10.5 wide. is the nb shoe cut wide? should i get a 10.5 or a 10.5 x-wide?
I usually get 3E 9.5 or 10. The New Balance have always been good for me. These are 4E and are plenty wide. I believe that you will be happy with these shoes.
