Superb quality

I was looking for a pair of shoes for working out at home and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these shoes. Having purchased many different models of NB shoes over the past few years, it has become difficult to predict the sizing and fit of the various shoes. However, these worked out for me fortunately. The fit is on the wide side; I typically buy X-wide but the wide version fits just fine for me in this model. The tongue is a sleeve design which may or may not work for you, but it actually works well for lifting and doing squats; I don’t have to worry about the tongue shifting to one side during my workout. The cushion isn’t the most comfortable that I have seen in NB shoes but is sufficient for my use. Lastly, the amount of lateral support is on the low side due to the flexible upper which is a trade-off. If you need lateral support then this shoe may not work for you. For normal gym workouts they are just fine. Overall I am happy with this show and would recommend for indoor workouts.

Worst product I’ve ever purchased from New Balance

For me, this pair of shoes have been the biggest disappointment in a product from New Balance, a company that has served me well in the past. So here is the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. In our Post-COVID world, I bought this pair after many months of searching for a new athletic shoe suitable for my usual blend of aerobics, boxing and walking. I am a large man., 260 lbs and I take an 11.5 Wide. The problem has been finding good shoes that are also available in my size. In our Post-Covid World, this has proved difficult. When these appeared as a cross-trainer shoe in my size, I was delighted and purchased these immediately. What a disappointment they turned out to be.The wide sizing of New Balance is why I have frequently purchased them before. And these in an 11.5 wide fit as expected. But, besides the fit I found them completely unsuitable for my workouts and barely serviceable even for daily walks. The problem is what I call “the great big blob of foam” used to make the footbed. It’s completely unstable for any kind of vigorous motion, especially side to side. The cushioned sole sucks up all the energy from my legs which tire much more quickly than normal for me. They even proved uncomfortable for ordinary walking. I tried improving these by adding an insole but there was little improvement. I have thrown in the towel and I am returning them. Many shoemakers seem to have adopted this construction. Perhaps it is a consequence of COVID created supply and labor constraints. In any case these did not work for me.

Best shoes ever

I absolutely love these shoes. They fit like a glove, but obviously for my feet. I was cautious at first about the whole no tongue thing, and then I realized how much I have been missing out.I strictly use these for working out, but I may buy a leisure pair in the future. The price makes it a little tough now, so I’ll definitely be waiting.I’ve never owned shoes this comfortable for working out. I was actually able to lift more weight since my feet weren’t killing me from doing heavy lifts. These are great shoes for working out or for just walking around all day at the park. I definitely recommend them. The price is worth the comfort, build quality, and support.

Great wide trainer.

I Have these shoes for various at home training work outs(cardio and weight lifting). Provides great, responsive, support and good lateral support as well. Wide option trainers are few and far in between but New Balance nails it with this one in my opinion.

Fits Like a Glove

My husband asked for shoes to jog in and wear to the gym. These shoes are such a hit he keeps telling me how wonderful they are. The design is without a tongue so no worry about the tongue slipping around. They hold his foot in place and are cushioned. After working out in the gym today he again showed me the design and said this shoe was very comfortable and was perfect in keeping his foot from slipping in the shoe without being too tight. He’ll buy these again after these wear out!

Slow Slow Shipping by selling company (Not Amazon)

This shoe surprised me the first pair I owned, fit great, don’t have to be laced super tight to stay solid on your feet for movement and great souls for traction in the gym, though they do squeak a bit…lol. The company doing the shipping, it was not Amazon, has boat slow shipping, took over a week for something that was in stock, that’s too long when you need new shoes!Boo on the shipping, WOOT on the shoe!

Sweet Cross Trainers

These are perfect for cross training. I wear them from the treadmill to the weights and to aerobics. Very comfortable and very sturdy. Fit great.

ARRIVED USED

ARRIVED USED – I wanted Amazon to know it was not me who put any marks on the soles, they have definitely been worn and run in by 1 or more people before me who left worn marks on the soles. Zero cushioning if you have metatarsal pain and the heel grip was aching after walking on house carpet so probably not the fit for me.

New Balance Men’s FuelCell 100 V1 Cross Trainer – FAQ

Do these shoes have laces or slide on?

They have laces.

Do these have arch support?

I have a fairly high arch. I find that for me, the arch support is just about right. These are cushy, without being squishy.
