Vibram Men’s Furoshiki Dark Jeans Sneaker – Reviews

Barefoot, but not

These are not what I expected; they’re really in a class of their own.I bought them on the recommendation of a friend– that is, based on a video review by someone who happens to be a friend, so I didn’t have a chance to ask questions. These are Vibrams, so I expected 5 individual toe boxes; these have only the one toe box, and it’s relatively small. If I’d known that I wouldn’t have bought them, but now I’m glad I did. What these are is the nearest thing to barefoot you can get while wearing shoes. They’re extremely light and flexible, even the soles, but the soles do provide adequate protection. I probably wouldn’t wear them to run a 10K, certainly wouldn’t wear them to walk around all day on concrete in Manhattan. Don’t know if I’d wear them in the OR either; they wouldn’t provide protection against an Xray machine running over your foot, for example.I do use them for light hiking and trail running, and for trips to Trader Joe or the dentist. They give me fantastic road feel; I can feel every pebble, but at the same time I can walk over pebbles and broken glass that I wouldn’t dream of tackling barefoot. They’re extremely comfortable, they give great road feel, and they allow my feet to work naturally, almost like barefoot, while providing the protection you expect from shoes.I got size 10.5, which is my usual size, and on my first test drive, I thought the toe box was too small, the shoes were maybe too short, maybe I should have gotten size 11. However, the thing is, the shoes are stretchier than socks. After a few more outings, I’ve decided the size is OK. The toe box can be a little smaller because it stretches like a sock, or even more so. I’d recommend getting either your size, or a half (American) size up.I love ’em. If you want the most minimal shoes you can get, I think these are them.

Nice Design with some serious flaws !

The Design looks really good. The problem is they run narrow also the fabric get really hot when struck with sun light for anything over 30mins. So hot to the point it feels like your feet are burning it makes you take the shoes off. I’m here in the Sunshine state Florida. The narrow fit also bother when you walk feel like you wearing girl shoes or something. If this product was wider and used a better fabric that doesn’t get so hot it could be a five star product.

“Shocking” my feet with a no arch support shoe

Disclaimer: I use items I buy off Amazon for at least a month of regular use before I put a review; also I do not give 5 stars unless the product truly deserves 5 stars (a 4 out of 5 is still considered high in my opinion).I purchased this item in June to make it easier for my trip to Hawaii as minimal as possible. This is my first pair of shoes that are super flat, flatter than converse chucks. Here is my take on it.Pros:1. It’s very flexible. It has it’s own pouch so it’s easier to place it in your check-in suitcase or carry on.2. It’s very light.3. It’s easy to put on and take off with the ease of velcro.4. It’s a good workout shoe especially when doing squats and deadlifts.Cons:1. If you have flat feet like I do, it will take some time to get your feet adjusted to it. On the bright side is I’m using this as a tool to strengthen the muscles that create the arch of the foot.2. The sole is thin enough to feel rocks if you’re walking through, well, a rock landscape. Walking on rocks does not make my feet hurt. It’s not uncomfortable when walking through rocks, but it’s more noticeable. My advice is if you’re gonna travel with this, I suggest you let it “breakdown” so the insole will conform to your feet. Now I chose 11.5 inches because that’s my shoe size when I wear New Balance shoes. My exact shoe size is 11.5 4E (when checking shoe width here it looks like “XXL” has replaced “4E”). With New Balance shoes, my toes have a good wiggle room without making it feel too tight. Now my toes, specifically my big toe, touches the tip of the shoe. I can feel it but it’s not too uncomfortable. Prior to purchasing the pair I checked the website for a more in depth tip on how this show is suppose to fit. It’s recommended to use the same shoe size you normally wear. I’m sure every other review recommends it, you can either buy 2 pairs (one exact and one slightly bigger) and return one, or buy a size larger than you normally wear.Overall I like the shoes and will be using them until it starts to break.

Vibram Men’s Furoshiki Dark Jeans Sneaker – FAQ

Does it give you ninja powers or abilities?

Only at night

Is it any good for training, treadmill and weight lifting?

Super good for deadlifting, cuz I like to have my feet as close to the ground as possible when i deadlift. Running wise, I’d say it’s more comfortable outside. Outside you tend to run differently in these shoes. You run on the balls of your foot. For some reason that’s easier to do outside for me. On a treadmill, I have to set the incline to about 2 so that I don’t slam my heels into the ground

I Wear us 12 size any recommendations for vibram size?

I would say get size 12. I wear size 9 and i can fit a 8/8.5 which is snug on the big toe.

I wear a 44 in five fingers should I get the same size in these pair?

I would say yes

Can they be used as water shoes?

I wouldn’t use them for that. It might make the Velcro go more quickly.

Will they work walking on a treadmill?

I don’t see why not. They have great treading and I walk on them for miles and miles.

anyone know the weight on these? pref size 43

Don’t know the weight. They are VERY light, but durable.
