Vibram Men’s KSO Cross Trainer – Reviews
soles failed fast
I really like the feel of running in these shoes. Doing so really toned up my calves (not necessarily a goal, but it was cool). The problem is I go right through the soles on Vibrams on the middle toes every time. This happens inside of 50 miles. I’ve had it happen with a few pairs now. Vibram was unwilling to offer a solution. They just suggested I buy a more expensive pair. I don’t think they’ll get any more of my money.

Great footwear, you might need to get a size smaller.
I enjoy the product, but the size doesn’t really match the chart on their site. I’ll be exchanging for a smaller size.Overall, the product met my expectations. It takes some getting used to, but they feel nice on the foot.

Feetastic !
Pretty good feels like wearing a sock. It takes a minute to get use to them but it’s okay. Hard to put on your feet on the fly so.

Great Cross Training and Martial Arts Shoe!
Great Cross Training Shoe! Tough enough and protective enough for a martial arts shoe. Great overall grip on sole, but not necessarily good for pivoting on balls of feet. Build quality is great. Nice round heel cup makes for a good driving shoe. Can be worn for all casual and general sporting occasions where dress or sport-specific shoes are not required.** CAREFUL Sizing is CRITICAL! ** Purchased March 2010 – the Particular model I own and wear is a Vibram FiveFingers KSO, Mens , size41, all black. Shoes were ordered *AFTER* CAREFUL SIZE MEASURING using Vibram’s and bloggers’ recommended methods – sizing was Still a little off. At first trial wear at home, seemed to fit OK. However after wearing it indoors and outdoors for a day while on vacation, I noticed some post-wear butting against my big toe, all other toes were okay. After taking them off for the day, I felt relieved of big toe joints ache and pains. After I struggled considering returning them for 1 size larger (I really liked how the shoes performed otherwise), my research indicated that the next size larger may be Too large. Trying to avoid a fruitless return / exchange and with a little more research, I developed the following technique (derived from other Vibram bloggers with the same problem – Much Thanks, guys!) that Successfully stretched the shoes to my desired size (my big toe tip to heel measurement on Both feet is 10.5″ – only needed to stretch to ~ 10.6″): Inserted old “As-Seen-On-TV” self ratcheting, large “Wonder Wrench”‘s ( ~ 11”, wobble-ratcheting, labelled “23-32 Heavy Duty” and 13/16″-1 1/4″ CHROM-PLATED”) into each shoe – small end Squarely into the Rubber part of the big toe pocket, other big end into shoe heel. It just so happened that my wrenches were the Perfect length for my need and provided internal bracing tension (you may need to find a different appropriate-sized rod-like tool). Ensure bracing tension is ONLY on the rubber parts of the toe pocket, and NOT on the cloth or stitched seams – you’re only going to stretch the Rubber part of the shoe, Not rip the cloth uppers or the stitching! Then I CAREFULLY heated ONLY the surrounding vulcanized rubber sole material Slowly going around the rubberized toe area and straight down towards the heel cup following underneath the brace with my 1875W hair dry in a fan-ventilated bathroom until I smelled burning rubber (again, CAREFULLY AVOIDING the cloth uppers and stitching!) . I then allowed the hot shoe to air-cool on its own with the brace inside. I repeated the process for each shoe. Took ~ 20 minutes or less (not counting the time needed to scrounge for the best fitting brace).Shoes fit Great now! For those with a Morton’s toe (longest second toe), calculate the shoe size against your Longest toe. For the internal brace, some bloggers used various ratchet wrenches and shims to get to their desired stretched size.

Vibram Men’s KSO Cross Trainer – FAQ
I wear a size 13-14 in men’s dress shoes and was hoping to see if the sizing is about the same. Should I order a size down or should they fit nicely?
I wear a 13 in sneakers and dress shoes. These ran true to size for me in a 13. I have a little space in the toes. I wear them with toe socks to reduce sweating and they fit me perfectly.
