Xero Shoes Colorado – Men’s Lightweight Shoe Sandal for Trails, Water. Barefoot-inspried, Minimalist, Zero Drop – Reviews
So far, so perfection! 👟
They fit me a little small. I ordered a 9.5 and I wear a 9.5 in shoes but I typically wear a wide. The length was perfect. Fortunately the tightness isn’t terribly uncomfortable. If I ordered a 10.0 I’m pretty sure my little toes would be sticking out the side.So far I have worn them on an overnight backpacking trip… only did 2.5 miles each way and I’m glad I did. My legs were so sore the day after our hike out. The pamphlet that came with the shoe warns of that happening when you first start wearing them. So I hiked 2.5 miles on both Saturday and Sunday and was sore AF on Monday. But I wore them for an entire day at a waterpark and no soreness issues!I like these for hiking. A lot. The closed toe protected me from stubbing my toes on roots and rocks many times. Gave great protection. Also, I was worried that sharp rocks might be uncomfortable to step on, but I walked gravel roads and extremely sharp trail rocks with no discomfort whatsoever. They felt so good. It was almost as though I could tell the rocks and things were there and they were sharp. And it was a good thing. I felt more connected and aware of the ground, but with perfectly protected feet.At the waterpark the shoes were magnificent. I wore them down all the slides and I never felt weighed down like I do with typical water shoes. Even swimming in the lazy river and wave pool I couldn’t even tell they were on my feet. I think I’d spend 100 bucks on these just for use as water shoes! That’s how good they were.So far they seem very durable. The sole is guaranteed for 5,000 miles but nothing about the webbing and things. Because my shoe fit tightly I knew I’d be putting pressure on most of the seems and connections of webbing to the sole. So, I pulled and tugged, hard, on all those spots and there was xero indication that there could be a failure.I will update of there are any failures with this shoe in the future. In the meantime, I’m gonna wear these everywhere!

Bad blisters.
I really wanted to like these because of the flat sole and minimalist design. They seemed like a good alternative to Keen water shoes (which are over engineered for me). I wore them a few times, just easy walking, for about 15 minutes at a time, and each time I got hot spots/blisters on the balls of my feet. I think it must be due to the finish of the rubber on the footbed. It has some texture on it to prevent slipping, but it did murder to my feet. I had to return them because they are completely unusable.

GOOD PRODUCT – NOT SURE ABOUT IT FOR ME
I want to make clear that my rating is more about me than the product. I guess I was not quite sure what to expect, so while I am less than enthused, that is probably on me. It seems well made, fits as expected, I do not get blisters or anything bad from it. I have recently discovered the Altra shoe line and really like them. They do not make a sandal so I ordered these. Shoes are hard to buy online unless they are something you’ve had before, so for me, these don’t provide enough “shield” from the surface I’m walking on. Teva had some very simple “zero drop” sandals that I loved and wore out completely, but they dropped the model. So I am not saying Xero is a bad product, just probably not right for me.

Look a bit odd but they work.
If minimalist shoes suit you then these are likely to work. I have been using another brand of shoe for many years but they have steadily added thickness to their soles so they are soft and squishy like standard running shoes. These Xero shoes have thin soles, one of the three hallmarks—thin soles, no arch support, no heel—of minimalist footwear.Still, they are a bit odd. The structure of the uppers allow for great ventilation but it’s easy for sand and gravel to intrude. But there is no such thing as a perfect shoe, right? One thing I don’t like is the lacing. Elastic cords are an annoyance.

i’m on my second pair — plus comment about fit
i’m old and fat … (70 , 5foot 8, 225 lbs.)i’ve had different products from Xero. these sandals are my favorite. the sole is just the right texture i guess, because i don’t feel the gravel at all compared to other barefoot shoes, including Xero. also the sole wears very well! in any case if someone wants to try out barefoot shoes, i recommend these sandals specifically. Xero reviews usually suggest buying 1size longer than your usual size. it can’t hurt to buy them 1size up and you can decide for yourself , hopefully when you order a second pair. that said, i buy all my shoes 1 size longer than what i am told i should wear. in the case of these sandals, i pressed the wrong button on the first pair. so i wore the wrong size for a long time without any problems. now that i have the second pair – 1 size larger – i prefer it. if your feet are very flat, you’ll prefer them to fit long for sure. that’s true of all shoes, i find.

Xero Shoes Colorado – Men’s Lightweight Shoe Sandal for Trails, Water. Barefoot-inspried, Minimalist, Zero Drop – FAQ
How doe these feel without socks? What is the interior material like? Do they breathe well?
They feel fine without socks. Actually uncomfortable with socks. The material is a thin rubber and they breathe really well as it is a sandal with huge gaps all around, but the toes are protected completely
Do you hsve a 12 EEE
All of our shoes and sandals are designed to allow the foot to move, bend and flex naturally. This means that there is no arch support, minimal if any cushioning and wider than average forefoot to allow for toe splay. Our main concept is to allow you to move naturally, as if you were barefoot, but with protection! Since everyone prefers a different fit, we, unfortunately, cannot guarantee that they will work for everyone. We’ve found that a size EEE is a bit of a grey zone simply because many people do find that the shoes fit well but for some, they are still a bit too snug. We often find that those who fit EEEE don’t fit in our shoes.
When will it be available in black for size 7? I’ve been waiting for 3 months already… Thanks
Hello Jaime, Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in Xero Shoes! Unfortunately we are out of stock of some colors and sizes of the Colorado here on Amazon but we are expecting a restock around Spring 2022. It does appear we have the Colorado Men’s size 7 in Black available on our direct website Xeroshoes.com. Here’s the link: https://xeroshoes.com/shop/shoes/colorado-men/ If you ask our owner and CEO Steven Sashen he likes to say: “This is my least favorite conversation: ME: We sold out of many of our best styles, colors, and sizes this year SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER RUN A BUSINESS: That’s a good problem to have. ME: It’s never good when I can’t give people what they want. If you’re one of the MANY people who has been frustrated because we didn’t have the product you wanted, we sincerely apologize. Being a bootstrapped company, growing as fast as we have, running out of inventory is one of the issues we’ve had to deal with. And, trust me, it’s more unpleasant for us than it is for you.” The good news: More products/styles/colors are coming soon. We have new shoes and sandals for men and women that we’ll be introducing throughout the next year. We’ll send a notification via our newsletter at xeroshoes.com/newsletter when they are available again. We’ve also included a video link that goes into further detail here: https://xeroshoes.com/xero-shoes-news/inventory/ Please let us know if you have any other questions! 🙂
how much do these weigh
A men’s 9 will weigh 7 oz/each! So…14 oz/pair.
How is the grip?
They have good grip in all directions. The rubber soles are about the same hardness as typical running shoes.
