    Great trail running shoe

For a long time I ran in Vibram five fingers. As I age my feet and back can no longer run barefoot through the woods. These shoes are a perfect zero drop with just enough cushion to keep me from aching. They are a little wider than a normal shoe, but that is just something that will take a few runs to adjust to. They are very comfortable and look good with a pair of jeans. I’m really glad I gave these shoes a try!

Very short – too small – and felt a little bulky

These shoes were a full size too small, *at least,* and I am always true to my size. I could tell before I even tried standing in them – when standing, my toe was jammed against the front of the shoe. The shoe around my ankle felt bulky, not like other minimalist sneakers that I have worn in the past. Also, the shoe box felt a little wide – not a problem in the toe area, which I like, but around the arch/heel area, which I felt needed less stability in order to allow for natural side-to-side movement.I bought this shoe because I’m on the market for a new fave minimalist walking/running shoe.I’ve been partial to other minimalist sneakers, but my favorite brand just made theirs narrower and they don’t fit me anymore either. Since these are wider, I really wanted to love this shoe! But, alas, I will have to keep looking further.

Rubber sole too heavy and stiff

Reminds me of an old movie where these kids have the power to fly except the town force them to wear very heavy bottom weighted shoes so that they could not become airborne. The rubber soles are just too heavy for me. Brw, my size 6 overall weighs 7 ounces Which is heavier than advertised. But it’s not the overall weight it’s the way the bottom pulls me down. Also way too stiff and dense and not spongy at all. I thought because it had flex grooves it would be OK but it is still not.Not sure if because i have a small foot or because im prone to tendonitis. Disappointed because the fit is perfect with wide toe box, truly zero drop, and happens to be exactly right length and width for my foot. I’m used to walking in zero or near zero drop and usually wear allbird skippers without the insoles and softstar moccasins when theres no concrete around but neither cling to foot like an athletic shoe So I was really hoping these would work out. Not sure if i should bother trying the xero speed force which has a 1 mm thinner rubber sole or if i will have same problem. Anything out there just like this but with spongier sole?

    Very comfortable

This was my first Xero shoe purchase and now I am searching for for styles so I can wear them everyday. Most comfortable shoe I own.
