Good Once I Returned them For a Bigger Size

These shoes are very comfortable, and are as advertised. They have a wide toe box so I can often take a smaller size with that shape of shoes, but I had to return the size 8 and order a size 9 (I usually wear 8 – 8.5). The 9 fits well. The return was pretty easy though (using a local Amazon locker). They feel good on city streets, but when I walked on a very rocky path, were not quite so comfortable because you really can feel the texture of the surface of the ground, but it wasn’t painful or anything. Could just take some getting used to, I suppose. This particular style has laces but is actually slip-on, and it’s kind of difficult to get them on (I have to squeeze my feet in the top). Once on they feel very comfortable though. I would definitely buy Xero shoes again. I wish they were sold in more places so I can try them on before buying.

Helped with knee pain

Comparing the sizing of the Oswego to the women’s Prio – these are very slightly smaller. I have both styles in the same size and have a little space in the toe of my Prios. In these my toes just touch the end but the shoes have enough give that it’s not uncomfortable. However I am in a women’s 11 (generally wear a 10 or 11 depending on the brand), with average width and narrow heels, so it would be nice to see a bigger range of sizes in the women’s line. There are some styles I won’t even bother trying since they are listed as running small, and the men’s sizing is too wide for me. Since making these my primary shoes I’ve seen a huge improvement in my knee pain, so I would love to be able to wear other styles as well.

MOST HEALTHY HEALING SHOE EVER!!!

My Feet were greatly injured from rocker bottom shoes. I have had a long journey. I have only been able to wear one kind of shoe and they weren’t perfect. I have had serious walking problems, I have needed a shoe that didn’t tell me my foot what to do. I have researched shoes for a long time and so much it seems like a second job. Then I found Xero shoes. The science and the story sounded amazing and when I got them, they are as great as I expected. I really believe that these shoes are going help me learn all over again to walk correctly.

Too wide, not as customizable as other models

I love my Mesa Trail Xero shoes, but sadly, these didn’t work for me. You can’t tighten the laces as much as you can on the models that have the shoe tongue insert in the middle, so this model doesn’t offer as much customizability. I have somewhat narrow feet and need to pull in the sides to make it work. I wear an 8.5-9 in regular shoes, and the 9 was too short (foot hitting the end), and while the 9.5 length was right, the 9.5 was noticeably wider. Without the ability to pull in the sides, the shoe was just too loose. I’ll stick with Mesa Trail, but was hoping for a shoe with an everyday look too.

OK…I expected more

Very difficult to put on, but with determination and perseverance I succeeded! Pretty comfy if you manage to get them on. They definitely run AT LEAST a half size small, if not a full size. I like Xero Shoes, but these are quite pricey for what you get.

Great shoe

These shoes are great! I addedCURREX RunPro World’s Leading Insole for Running – Walking insoles and its a perfect match.I used to be a marathon runner in my younger years. Fast forward 30+ years (and a debilitating bone diagnosis). I had to change jobs and now have to stand on my feet for 9 plus hours. I thought I was going to die! I have 20 plus pairs of shoes with and without memory foam. Nothing worked…until now.Now Momma wears a size 9 so being attractive on my feet..not so much. But, who cares! LolI will get several more pairs because they do have some nice colors for their shoes.Hope this review helped.

Not for me

They are tight around the ankle, huge relief to take them off. I have tried 3 xero shoes in 3 sizes and can’t find a pair that are comfortable despite having followed the sizing information on their web site. I wear zero drop shoes so the issue is this brand!

I think I would love this shoe if I can find the right size

The barefoot sole was wonderful as well as the shoe design. It was not a good fit for my foot though. I usually wear an 8 and an 8.5 in athletic shoes. I ordered an 8.5 to be on the safe side. When I tried them on with very light socks, my toe hit the top of the shoe. I had to return them.

Xero Shoes Women’s Oswego Knit Casual Shoe – Lightweight Zero Drop Barefoot Shoe – FAQ

Why are these priced so much higher than the xeroshoes website?

Hello, since Amazon is an independent retailer separate from the Xero Shoes website, they regulate their own prices independent of the Xero Shoes website.

If I wear a women’s 11 (with socks) in the Prio, will this shoe fit in the same size? I plan to wear these with socks as well.

It should. I wear Oswego and others but not Prio. Xero shoes are fantastic and I would choose your regular size.

Are these warm for winter?

The Oswego is a water resistant shoe and because it is a knit shoe, it should keep your feet pretty warm. We recommend wearing warmer socks if you want them to keep you warm in the winter.

On the xero shoes website the women’s 11 is listed as eu 41.5 but men’s 9 is listed as 42. would men’s 9.5 (42.5) allow space for correct toes?

If you are needing more width room, you may want to consider wearing the men’s version. Our men’s and women’s shoes are very similar, the difference will be the width. The men’s version will have an extra 1/4-1/8″ width compared to the women’s version. When moving from women’s to men’s you will need to “size down” 1.5 sizes. You will find a comparable length but you will get the extra width. For example, a Women’s 10 would be comparable in length to a Men’s 8.5.

Do these work well for hiking trails? How do they perform in mud and/or rain?

I wouldn’t use these shoes for hiking trails where you might encounter mud, water, etc. They’re a “sweater like” fabric and the soles aren’t tread ready for trails…

What exactly are these shoes made out of? Specifically is the knitting made from? Im woried about petroleum biproduct.

The knitting on the Oswego is a polyester knit, and our patented FeelTrue rubber sole. Please let us know if you have anymore questions.

Are these slip-on shoes?

Yes, more of a pull on sock like fit, very stretchy with ties if need to tighten, I don’t use them.

How snug should they feel?

They shouldn’t be uncomfortable…they’re kind of like a foot “sweater”, but in no way tight…

For those of you who wear size 11 (42), will this 11 fit, or do I need to order the men’s size 9?

Our best recommendation for fit would be based on our customer feedback. Most individuals have found that the Oswego fits true to size. If you plan to wear thicker socks, then you may want to consider moving a half size as well. Please keep in mind that our recommendation cannot ensure a proper fit, but it’s usually a good place to start. If you decide to go with the men sizing, our men’s and women’s shoes are very similar, the difference will be the width. The men’s version will have an extra 1/4-1/8″ width compared to the women’s version. When moving from women’s to men’s you will need to “size down” 1.5 sizes. You will find a comparable length but you will get the extra width. For example, a Women’s 11.5 would be comparable in length to a Men’s 10.
